A Wolverine in Washington D.C.

Today, I attended a National Science Foundation workshop as a member of a grant collaboration between ESC Region 12, Baylor University, and Penelope ISD. The purpose of the grant is to bring computer science classes to rural schools like ours.

There’s a ton of details, but the short is that we want to be able to offer coding classes and other opportunities in the near future; which will also serve as a new STEM pathway and graduation endorsement for our Wolverines.

Tomorrow, we will continue to put polish on the proposal and then come back home to Texas. Our partners at ESC Region 12 and Baylor University had much of the grant proposal completed before we arrived, and I’m very appreciative that Penelope will be able to join their innovative efforts.

It’s a great day to be a Wolverine!
