Spring is a busy time for Wolverines!

The Spring season is an exciting time as a number of Penelope Wolverines prepare for State competitions. The FFA Floral team traveled to Sam Houston State University to compete in the Floriculture contest, where students identified flowers and judged floral arrangements. The team, composed of Megan Green, Nick Hogan, Lizzy Jennings, and Melyssa Pineda, have waited a long time for this day. "I am very excited for this team because three of the four are seniors who have worked hard for four years to get to this point," said Ag teacher Tammy Christian.
Meanwhile, Raul Cartagena will be heading to Austin to compete in the Computer Science competition at the State UIL Academic Meet, and Brenner Martin will also be going to Austin to run in the 110 Meter Hurdles for State UIL Track.
"Raul has studied and worked very hard, and I am very proud of him," his coach Traci Pustejovsky commented.
"We are very proud of all of our athletes who competed at Regionals in Huntsville," noted Brenner's coach Jon Shaw. "Good luck to Brenner!"
Throughout the year, Penelope Wolverines of all ages have worked tirelessly to represent our school. From all the staff at Penelope, thank you to all the students who have shown what it means to be a Wolverine!
